Net Run Rate (NRR) Calculator
Work out any team's Net Run Rate from runs and overs — ideal for IPL 2026 points-table maths. Free, instant and accurate.
🏏 Your team batted (runs scored)
🎯 Opponent batted (runs conceded)
Enter overs as overs.balls — e.g. 19.3 means 19 overs and 3 balls. A positive NRR is good; negative means runs were conceded faster than scored.
How Net Run Rate is calculated
Net Run Rate is the standard tie-breaker on a cricket points table. The formula is simple: NRR = (runs scored ÷ overs faced) − (runs conceded ÷ overs bowled). The first part is your team's run rate; the second is the opponent's. The difference is your NRR. A higher number is better, and during a tight IPL group stage it can decide who qualifies and who goes home.
Counting overs correctly
The one thing people get wrong is overs. Cricket counts overs in balls, so 19.3 overs is not 19.3 — it's 19 and a half overs (19 + 3⁄6 = 19.5) for the maths. Our calculator converts overs.balls automatically, so just type what you see on the scorecard. Remember too that if a team is bowled out, you use the full quota of overs (e.g. 20 in a T20), not the overs they actually faced.
Why NRR matters for traders
If you trade cricket on KingExch365, NRR is more than trivia — late in a group stage, a team's need to boost its run rate changes how aggressively it bats, which moves the in-play markets. Knowing the table maths gives you an edge others miss. Pair this with our odds converter to size up value quickly. New to trading? Start with our online cricket ID guide.
